Zumba or Insanity?

I need a new workout video because I'm getting bored with Jillian Michaels. I just watched the infomercials of the both....Completely different. Zumba looks like a party, fun and not too crazy. Insanity might be a little too insane for me, but maybe.....Any suggestions?

I done both workouts but I would chose Insanity. I didn't get the results I wanted with Zumba. Insanity is insane but I am loving it.

    Insanity all the way!
  • If your only choices are Zumba or Insanity~ I would definately do Insanity! Zumba is way less intense. A good cardio workout here and there but produces minimal changes. My personal advice checkout beachbody.com (the company that sells Insanity/P90X/brazil butt lift) and check out all of their workout videos. They have a great diverse selection for begginers to althletes. If you like dance and fun and you want intense check out Chalene Johnsons Turbo Jam and/or TurboFire! They are a blast!
  • Insanity for sure! Beachbody also has many other great workout programs that you make like as well. They are all top notch! Send me a message if you have any questions. I have used Chalene Extreme, Less Mills Pump and Brazil Butt Lift. I love them all! Good luck!
  • zumba is amazing it's cardio and toning in one and it's fun just like a party ,you'll love it .i'm addicted i go to 4 classes a week and have my dvd box set for at home.

Depends on what you want to achieve -- Insanity is a very tough workout on the body. If you have tried P90X, it is more difficult. I recently purchase Zumba Fitness workouts - started July 5 and have lost about 20 pounds with the recommended calories from Fitness Pal. It is fun, it works!! I do this in the morning before work -- and I go in with a smile.

    both are great!

Zumba is much better in a class setting where you get variety of moves and get to laugh/dance with like minded people. The routines change frequently as instructors always add in new songs etc.Plus dependant on your instructor and the intensity you can burn loads of calories. I average 600+ calories per class

Insanity is awesome as a home workout. The programmes is amazing and helped me to lose a dress size and improved my endurance/stamina which makes me run better.

Insanity is correctly named! Ugh! You get an amaising workout if you are ready for it. Just make sure your knees can take it and your healthy. It truely is an insane workout. I have it and will have to work alot just so I can take the fit test!

Zumba is really fun and you do burn calories with it. It is more aerobic dance vs a bootcamp drill. Not slighting Insanity! I am just not ready for it. BUT you might be :)

Zumba! i'm a Zumba instructor but even if I wasn't, I would recommend Zumba. Its fun, the music is great, and it's not like you're even working out. I've burned alot of calories with Zumba. I also teach yoga so not only do I get the cardio from Zumba but also the strength and stretching from yoga

I also burn on average 600 or so calories per Zumba class. I ususally do back to back Zumba and power yoga and typically burn around 1000 or so calories
  • Insanity will destroy you, I recommend it :) Just started it myself, you have to have determination and don't give up but yea. It is 60 days of digging deeper.
  • I like Zumba because I like lower impact and having fun when working out. I HATE bootcamp style so I just wouldn't do it. So I stick with what I know I love - fun :)

I think it depends on how intense you want to be. Personally, I like to keep my workouts fun so that I'll actually get up and do them. I'm afraid of Insanity at this point, because I hate being sore, and it just looks too serious for me. I also don't like Jillian, because her attitude is too much for me. I like to keep it fun and upbeat as much as possible, because I'm enough of a sourpuss on my own.

I would choose Insanity if I want to workout at home. I would choose Zumba if you are going to classes. I have tried both Zumba workouts from tv. The first one works great, the newest latest release did not give me any results and I didn't like it as much as the first. Good luck!
