Could use some motivation

I've worked out every day for a few weeks and barely lost three pounds... I don't go over my calories much and I try really hard. Sure the last few days I haven't worked out, but I've been sick I've lost inches but I haven't lost pounds. The scale still says over 190. And it really discourages me. I've lost my motivation to get up and work out.

I'm chuckling inside because if you could only see my post from earlier today on my page. My scale said I went up 6lbs for no reason. Every single day I'm red flagged for not enough calories, I'm working out, I'm drinking water, I'm trying to be active, and the scale is going the wrong way! However, because I've been through this before I refused to allow myself discouragement. I admitted that it disappointed me greatly, but I refused to let it take me over. When you allow a set back to take you over, you go deeper in the hole rather than getting out. Take a long look over what kind of week it has been, TOM stats, water intake, bathroom usage, area you holding water, were you as faithful as you should have been, and then just re-evaluate, breath, and keep going. Just breath, and start again. The great thing about the next day, is it is a new slate. Figure out what went wrong, what went right, build from there, but do NOT stop!0

Don't stop! Keep going with your workouts. My problem was I would be all pro workout for about 2 weeks and then stop for about a month and then go back to working out for about 2 weeks and then stop cold turkey AGAIN for a month. I was upset cause I wasn't seeing the results I wanted. Well, then I went on a workout program where I had to do something everyday. It helped out because it helped me make working out a habit in my life. Once something is a habit...it's hard to stop. Just know that the more you workout on a daily basis the more your body will start to form the way you want it to. Keep going girl. Don't loose your motivation because you can reach your goals!0

That's not my problem. I've been sick. And haven't wanted to get up and work out. Especially with how bad my head keeps hurting. I love to work out. I'm just having trouble getting back into it.
And some people may not need motivation or support, but I find that it helps me! Which is why I ASKED for it.0 -
To have continuous motivation think of it this way...why do you want to lose wight? Keep that reason in mind and you'd be motivated to do something. Now, you ask then how to I do it? Eat healthy and exercise. Log all things that goes into your mouth, in this way, you will know what works and what doesn't. An example for me is sticking to just salad just doesn't work for me, I feel hungry all the time, and end up eating more. Ensure you eat enough to sustain the regime that you set yourself. As for exercise, I plan it into my calendar, so that it reminds me that I need to exercise.0

the thought of starting is always worse than actually doing it... trust me I know haha I have to talk myself into it some times. But really... like pu said just do it... because once you get the initial few minutes over it wont seem bad and you just need to break the cycle of not being that into it now.0

Tiffany, just keep going hon. Just keep striving. You've been ill, and sickness can take a lot out of your, and I'm happy that you are admitting you need support, otherwise than that there is no need for this board "Motivation and support". Just make sure that your "main" motivation is inside you, and your own goals.Make sure that you pay attention to your body as it seems to now be in recovery from when you were sick and do more, and more as you go along, building your strength up to what you used to do. No matter how small it is, just try to do more and more each day as your body allows, pushing it a little further each time. And ALWAYS remember, that sometimes everyone needs a hand, some encouragement, or someone just to point you back in the direction of why it is you started this in the first place, its just called being human.0 -

Sometimes we do need for someone to say "you can do it" but you still need to find that little voice inside of you to just get up and go for it. What may work for one person my not work for the other. You have to think about why you want to lose weight and how bad do you want it. Don't let illness or a cold get you down. I suffered from a concussion about eight months ago, and I still suffer from some of the side effects. I did not let that get me down. I still get up and do a workout no matter how big or small. Just do it.0 -
I plan on getting back on track tomorrow. I may not have been working out but I tried to stick to eating healthy. I worked out every day for three weeks and it became a habit til I got sick And I feel horrible because I couldn't work out. But I knew if I did I'd throw up. If I could I would go for a walk right now, but that's not a good idea. But the things yall said has helped me. I try not to go by the scales but sometimes it just gets hard. I think it would be a better idea if I weighed myself every two weeks. That way I'm not discouraged. And starting tomorrow, sick or not, I'm going to get up and go for a walk/run. And I'm going to keep telling myself not to touch the scales until next month. I don't worry about measurements so I don't know why my weight is worrying me.0

At least the inches are going down, maybe your gaining muscle. It may also be water weight, do you eat a lot of foods that are high in sodium. Try splitting you day up, eat protein with every meal and eat every two to three hours. With dinner being your main meal. Just stick with it, your body will catch up.0

3 Lbs are 3 lbs, dont get discouraged just keep moving, If you are losing inches and not weight then maybe your retaining some water from being sick?? how knows but dont let that get you down. And if all else fails try another scale and new batteries in your scale.0
