Is anyone here at their goal weight and maintaining?

According to MFP, I will continue to lose weight if I eat the number of calories I have been eating since I joined. (My daily goal was reduced a bit after I lost 10 pounds, but even at the earlier amount I would keep losing weight for quite a while and would eventually get where I want to be. It seems pretty sustainable and hopefully will take me down as far as I want to go.
In theory when I get to the weight I'd like to be I will be able to eat several hundred more calories a day than I am eating now without gaining weight and still maintain my new weight. That would be very nice. I wonder how realistic this is? Are there people who have gotten to that point here? Have they increased calories and stayed at their new weight?

i have hit my goal finally, it's been a slow process. and i just started to try to maintain it. So far i have increased 100 cals and so far so good. i will continue to do slow increments to see how my body adjusts to it. My maintenance is between 16-1800 and i'm at 1370 and i eat back all my exercise cals.0

SEVERAL HUNDRED more calories every day without a huge increase in exercise? Unless you're eating very little now, no, I don't think that's realistic.0 -
Well, I am supposed to be eating 1480 now to lose weight. (I am at about 205 and have lost some.) To maintain a weight i would be happy at -probably dropping another 25 pounds- I could eat about 1900 calories even without exercise according to the calculators I've found online. So that's 430 calories. Is there something wrong with this logic?0

I hit my goal a few weeks ago & have been maintaining. Right in the beginning I was losing weight but I upped my calories between 200-300 typically on any given day & have stayed steady the last 2 weeks. I'm 5 ft tall, weigh 110 & since I'm a nursing mom I try to get close to 2000 calories net whenever possible. I dont always though because im just not hungry. I felt like I had to constantly eat in the beginning, even when i wasn't hungry, to keep at my weight & it was driving me crazy. I still workout the same but I've kind of relaxed a bit on eating the majority of my calories back. I try to listen to my body more now. Eat when I'm hungry, stop when I'm satisfied.
My TDEE to maintain my weight while doing my workouts is about 1975.0 -
If you set your goal to maintain (instead of lose) MFP will calculate the number of calories you need to eat to maintain.0

I hit my goal over a year ago and have been maintaining ever since. I basically just eat when I'm hungry and use MFP to track my macros. Occasionally I'm over my calorie intake, occasionally I'm under but it all seems to balance out at the end of the week when I way myself.0

I think you need to get there first and then see what your pattern is. When you said "several hundred," I thought you meant 800 to 900 more calories every day. Don't forget that the calculators are guides. To use an old expression, YMMV.
Also bear in mind that the reason most people regain weight is because they delude themselves about what they can eat.0 -
I switched to maintaining so now my goals are about 500 cal higher... and i lost another 1.2 lbs over the month. i am not always meeting my goals though, it's hard to eat so much more when ur just not used to it, and i don't really eat much junk food... but yesterday i had a jr. hot fudge cake, which helped me meet my goal i am also still exercising some... not being as strict about doing it when i don't want to, but it feels good to get some exercise, hopefully i won't continue to lose and my weight will balance back out... winters coming up and i usually put on a couple lbs then anyway0

Ok. Fair enough. At this point I wouldn't even want to eat 800 more, I think.0

It sounds like you're doing well. Just keep going. It's good that you're preparing for the eventuality of maintenance, but I think it's too soon to be worrying about it yet. Also, I wonder if it's helpful to you to be thinking about how much more you can eat when you still have 25 pounds to lose. It sounds like you might revert to your old habits as soon as you reach your goal weight. Why not focus on how well you're doing today, and how good you feel? Those are the rewards to which you'll have to be accustomed.0
