And what to wear!! I live in Ohio and it's getting colder here. I am having trouble figuring out what and more importantly when to where it. Is the a guide that states under this temp wear a jacket ect.? I went for a 5k last week and wore a running jacket as it was chilly (about 55) but luckily my husband was there to cheer me on and hold my jacket but as soon as I stood in the sun I knew I wouldn't need it. But on my Friday am run, I was wishing I wore one. Any good rules of thumb? At what temp should I start wearing hat and gloves? I really don't want to move my run inside but feel a little nervous as the temperature goes down (and a little excited I hated to run in the heat!)

Hi, I use this webpage when I'm not sure:

You just input the temperature, wind, whether you want to feel warm or cool, and the weather conditions. I like it.0 -
Awesome! Thank you!0

It's trial and error I guess. I'm in Ohio too and about to go for my run, 10 miles, and it's currently 39 degrees. I'm wearing running shorts and my drifit jacket.0

If it's above 50, I'm comfortable in shorts and a tee or tank. Below that, I might want long sleeves and capris.
Around 45 and below, I might want a light jacket, long pants and gloves. Around 30 and below, a hat that covers my ears.0 -

I ran a 10k this morning in Cincinnati, it was about 38 degrees.....I wore long sleeve shirt and shorts.
It's whatever you feel comfortable at.0 -

You just learn from experience, and everyone is a little different. Go to a good running shop and get some good gear and advice, and you will find that even in the coldest tempatures you can generally run comfortably with just two layers plus a hat and good gloves or mittens. Yes, you start off a little chilly but soon you are perfectly comfortable. You figure it all out with experience, but you also want to have the right technical clothes.0
