Tattoo fans, need some help

My next tattoo I'm going to my ancestry, Norse/Viking/Scandinavian/Dane. I want something pretty bad *kitten* to represent my heritage from that area and history of our planet. I'm having a hell of a time finding much though. Google has failed me, or I've failed at Google. Maybe that's it? I did find some old runes that I want to incorporate in, but those are pretty small and won't be the focal point.

While something Viking could be used, I don't want an actual Viking. I live in Minnesota, so everyone would just assume it's for the NFL team Vikings. While I do love football and the Vikings (even though they suck), I don't want it to look like it has any meaning towards the football team.

Any ideas on where to even look? Thanks.

You could see if there are any images on here http://www.jorvik-viking-centre.co.uk/ that might inspire - otherwise I'm not sure apart from going back to Google. Have you tried asking your tattoo artist (assuming you go back to the same one)?

I'm looking for inspiration for my next 1 too - but also have to find a new artist
