Hi :flowerforyou:
I'm just curious, & like to see what people eat/net a day....and if you eat back exercise calories or not. (especially people that have had great success )
I've lost 25 lbs by netting/eating 1400 & eating back workout cals.... but now I'm netting 1650(my BMR) & eat back ALL my workout cals

No great success here yet, just getting started. I net about 1300 per day. That's a 277 cal deficit from the 1577 I apparently need to eat to maintain my current wait. I try my best to eat all my exercise calories. Some days when I'm extremely active I burn upwards of 1000 calories though so it can be difficult.0

1400-1700.

Wow 1000 cals burned a day is awesome!0

A slow loss is better than gaining!0 -
When I'm working as hard as I can and behaving, about 1500-1600. 1700-1800 is my usual. On bad days, let's just say there is no deficit to my net cals.0

I can have 1480 cal a day. I try to eat back my calories on the days I workout. I've had success so far, 3 lb loss this month.0

I'm about the same as you OP... I lose on net 1500-1600... I eat all my exercise calories so my actual caloric intake is closer to 2000-2100/day when I'm losing. My maintenance would be about net 2000-2100 or 2400-2500 total it seems. I'm 5'7" and 37 years old. 160 lbs currently with about 26% BF.0

About 1200 calories net. However, I burn 800 to 1800 calories per day exercising, much of which I eat back.0
-
I started out at 1200 (the apparent default)
Realized this wasn't enough, bumped up to 1300.
Decided to bump up again to 1400
Just reached 1/2 lb over my original goal weight, bumped up to 1500
Eat back all of my exercise calories.0 -
Right now about 1315.0

I don't get this at all. Ihave a hard time eating my given calories in a day let alone the !000 to 2000 calories I burn with exercise in a day. How important is it to eat back the net calories?? Some days there is no way I could eat that much!0

3050 or so.0

I make a point to never net less than my RMR, which is 1400. I don't exercise a lot, 3-4x, so most days my goal of 1700 cal, that is net as well.
eta. I'm having more success eating at this calorie level than I was netting below BMR.0 -

People shouldn't be exercising a lot since they are already assuming a moderate to large deficit by eating less.0

I net about 1350-1400. Some days a little more, some days a little less, but I always ensure I achieve a minimum net of 1200 calories. Some days I find that number extremely hard to reach, particularly if I have a heavy (700-1000 calories burned) exercise day. Eating 700-1000 extra calories to reach my net required is extremely difficult for me to wrap my mind around, but I do my best.0

I eat between 2000 and 2200 a day but, net around 800-900 a day.0

I was just looking into this subject. I wasn't logging my exercise calories because I didn't want to eat them, but I want to keep track of my exercise. So looking back at my food diary I see that if I was tracking exercise I am only netting 850-1000 calories a day, but...I lose 2-3 pounds each week. I'm not hungry, I feel great, but that's not a lot to eat.
Now I also have to realize that I'm not 110 lbs. I started at 284 and I'm down 20 since Aug 7, about 6 weeks. Is this too fast? Like I said, I'm not hungry, I feel better then I have in years, I'm eating a balanced, healthy diet, sleeping like a baby and exercise about an hour 5-6 days a week. I don't want to change anything if what I'm doing is working.
Might also add that I have hypothyroidism so my metabolism is mega-slow.
What do you think?0 -
I'm supposed to net 1310. I always eat that and try to net that, although my weekly totals are always around 1000-2000 calories under my net goals. When it was hot I wasn't hungry enough to eat all my exercise calories back, but now that it's cool I am always pretty close.0

If you are at 284 you are have a lot of weight to lose long term. It is much easier (and just fine) to lose quickly at that point. Your body is happy with you now that you're taking care of it!
It will eventually slow down.0 -
I NET around 1500. On workout days, I eat around 1900. I'm actually late to the NET game, but I have much more energy now than before when I was netting under 1200.0

Slow is much better than plateauing for 6 months (not fun)!! You have the right idea.0 -
I am suppose to eat 1200 calories a day. I burn between 600 and 1000 calories a day from exercising. I have been trying really hard to eat the required 1200 but it has been a struggle. the only way I can get higher is to eat crap. I don't like the idea of eatting garbage just to up my calories. Any thoughts?0

I actually posted a topic on this type of thing too. It really does make sense to eat at least your BMR in your NET calories. My bf has been trying to explain this to me for months now. I am supposed to eat 1400 if I don't exercise at all. But then I'm exercising and burning between 600 and 1000 calories. Last night I burned 1256 and had a net of about 250. It was a bit ridiculous and I figured with a burn like that I really shouldn't burn ALL of what I ate. I am hoping this shows me results. I'm intimidated by it because I'm terrified to gain weight back. I've been taught super old school when it comes to losing weight. So here it goes, let's hope for the best and maybe I'll start shedding those last 5lbs faster than I was, I had plateaued and not really gotten anywhere. This seems perfectly logical if 1400 is my resting energy and that's just to maintain body functions. Makes perfect sense. So hopefully I'll go from netting 300 - 500 calories to actually netting at LEAST 1200. Last night I ate 2100 and still was under by 300.0
