Runner's Skin

Ok, so I'm not trying to offend anyone, but I've noticed that many runners have a weathered look to their skin...especially their faces.I've been walking about 15 miles a week, and lately I've noticed I get burned, since I don't have anything to protect my skin. I sweat so much I sweat off any hair products, or lotions..which is why I've never put any SPF.What can I use as SPF on my skin that won't clog my pores...but will last? Is there such a product out there?

I use sunscreen and I moisturize well to take care of my skin. If I forget my sunscreen, I take the run inside. The sun is unforgiving here. Neutrogena has sunscreen made for the face and I use number 55. I think it goes higher. I know they have regular sunscreen for the body that does. Because I sweat bad and it can make the sunscreen run into my eyes, which hurts, I don't put any on my forehead and use a sun visor.0

You can use a mineral sunBLOCK (zinc/titanium dioxide). It'll stay on, but it may (prob will) clog your pores unless you take it off with an oil-based remover and cleanser afterwards. Ball cap and sunglasses (the big wraparound ones, so you're not squinting) will help a bit.1

Look for the sport versions of sun block. There will be a bit of it mixing with your sweat as it drips down your face, but it's not going to come off. I used a Coppertone Sport version while training for each of my half marathons, and that involved up to 14 miles each Sunday for three months of sold training runs outside. And while I'd get a little bit of a sting in my eyes every now and again, I never had a problem with burning.
But I also supplement with wearing a breathable mesh hat for my runs as well. And, once I started using a hat by Halo that has one of their sweatbands built in, I didn't even get the dripping sweat anymore.1
