Measurements! What's Your's?

I was browsing blogs and came across this excerpt
"I am 60 inches tall (Yes, just 5 feet) and today I weigh 140 lbs. Yikes! Statistically I should weigh around 115 to be "healthy". Well I am most definitely not healthy And here's how I can tell:
- Measurements:
Bust: 38 in
Waste (yes I intentionally mis-spelled this because that's what it is)- 37 in.
Butt: 40 in.
Arms: 11 in
Thigh: 20 in.
Calf: 12 in.

It's amazing how we can have different heights and weights and vary in size.
I'm 5' 1" currently 156lbs
Bust: 36"
Waist: 31"
Thighs: 25" (Yes, I'm a pear)
Arms 12"
Anyway, My point is I think we should stop obsessing over the number on the scale(I'm still working on this) and focus on how we feel in our clothes.

You are in a size 4 jeans and 96 lbs but your thighs are 31 inches??? I measure my thighs at 22 inches...that can't be right. I wonder if I am measuring wrong. I can't imagine at your weight and jean size that my thighs are smaller than yours. Gosh, I hope I have been measuring right.0 -

Nah, pannelkat. The last pair of pants I bought were a size 16 and would've been a size 14 if it wasn't for my thighs. And my thighs are 27.5" I have huge thighs, even for my size, so it sounds to me like you're measuring correctly.
Some people take a measurement at their hips and a measurement at the top of their thighs (all the way around both of them) so maybe that's what she did instead of measuring each thigh individually.0 -

The before and after are so motivating!!! I've always been a huge believe in taking measurements (plus it keeps me in check when the scale doesnt

I've been working out for about 8 months with little, almost no weight loss.. I just started using MFP to try to get a better handle on things.
When I first started working out:
Weight: 210 lb
Bust: 46 inches
Waist: 36 inches
Hips: 49 inches
Arms: 17 inches
I have the measurement results, which is the only thing continuing to motivate me. I'm getting married in May and was hoping to have lost a significant amount of weight by then.. I know that goal won't be met, but at least my arms will look better in my dress0
