The Garage Boys - Please Read :)

I’m sure many people here have never heard of The Garage Boys. They are an awesome cover band based out of Las Vegas. They also have their own music as well. They come to Reno frequently & I’ve seen them play. They kick *kitten*!

But that’s not the reason I posted this topic. The reason I posted it is this: I have a friend who was diagnosed with cancer back in July. She is one of the toughest people I know and she has battled like a true warrior these past couple of months. Unfortunately, the prognosis is the worst you could imagine when dealing with cancer. Given this information, of course, she wants to do a bunch of things. She’s on a cruise with her family I as I type, for example.

Well, she’s seen The Garage Boys a few times when they’ve been in Reno & she really likes them. Ok, so we were all crushing on them on our last Girls’ Night Out, LOL!! :bigsmile: One of our friends checked the tour dates & The Boys were in Reno this past weekend. So, she got in touch with their booking agent about maybe having them go & see our sick friend. The drummer called back & said basically, “Of course! Anything for our fans!” They had even said if she lived within walking distance from their hotel that they would’ve walked. She doesn’t; so our other friend gave them a ride.

So The Garage Boys went to see our sick friend this past Saturday afternoon. She was shocked…I wish I could’ve been there to see the look on her face, because I’m sure it was priceless, LOL :bigsmile: The guys from the band just absolutely made her day. They took time out of their schedule to just hang out with her & her family for a while. And really, all I wanted to say was a big thank you to the members of the band. They went out of their way to make a total stranger smile. You guys are the best! Not many people would do that for a fan.

So to those of you in the NV / CA area, next time you hear The Garage Boys are playing…check them out. They put on a fantastic show & they are easily some of the nicest guys in the entertainment industry.

    AWESOME! Its so cool they were willing to take their personal time to do this for someone they didn't know.

    Our friend who arranged all of this said that the guys were even willing to take a cab to go see her...considering they were coming from downtown Reno and our friend lives a good 15 minutes from there that would've been a pricey cab ride.

    You just don't see many people willing to go out of their way for people like this anymore. And I just wanted people to know that there are people who care :flowerforyou:
