I really politely ask you not to post if it is only purpose is to express your opinion of how important carbs are!!
Thank so much and I really look forward to your yummy suggestions. :-)

Well, carrots and banana's have a decent amount of carbs, so maybe not a carb free breakfast you are looking for but a low carb breakfast? My low carb, favorite non egg breakfast consists of
Smoked Salmon 2oz
Goat Cheese, 2 oz (28g)
Cucumber
Slice the cucumber, spread a little goat cheese on the cucumber and top with salmon.
It'll top you out at 5-7 carbs.0 -
bananas have quite a bit of carbs........
I prefer 2-3 eggs, and a few slices of bacon.0 -
Carrot and banana are carbs.
You want a no carb breakfast, then eat protein and fat.
Duh.0 -
Bacon, Ham, sausage, eggs, egg whites, steak, fish, etc.
For low carb, but not no carb:
Add veggies with the above, or
Greek yogurt (plain)
cottage cheese
cheese
etc.0 -
Ahh, yes.
I meant to say the 'obvious' carbs eg pasta bread potatoes etc...
Thanks for the suggestion. :-)0 -
I had 2 light string cheeses and a red bull sugar free today0
-
I will have strawberries with llogo 0% yogurt. The net carb effect is less than 10.0

Most meats, cheeses, eggs are no carbs...take a choice of them. Switch between bacon, sausage and ham....throw in some chicken or turkey. Have steak and eggs0

this works for me. sometimes it's pepperoni or salami instead of bacon.0 -
What do you mean by obvious carbs? Like some carbs are obfuscated?0
-
I'd say greek yogurt with some fresh fruits.0
-
Cantaloupe and cottage cheese or Fried eggs with shredded zucchini (like hashbrowns)
Yum!0 -
2 pieces of toast (120 cal) im sure you can find lower calorie bread
i serving of steak-ums (100 cal)
2 servings of egg white (30cals)
or
1/2 c of dry oatmeal (boring) loaded with cinnamon, and vanilla extract and equal.0 -
this morning I had a stir fry of bok choy and mushrooms. I threw an over easy egg on top for the yolk-sauce.0

have you tried the Atkins MIM ( muffin in a minute)? It is made from milled flax-seed and is basically a low-carb bread that you can make in the microwave in a couple of minutes. Is delicious, low-carb and high fibre. I love it! Google Atkins MIM for the recipe0

it's still a carb though............
eating some pasta in the morning and eating a banana in the morning would have similar effects.0 -
My usual is 1 whole egg, 2 egg whites and turkey sausage. However, today I made whey protein pancakes with 4 or 5 carbs and they were quite filling. And my meat too.0

One of my fully loaded carb breakfast options that I make is a two egg fritata. I sautee spinach, tomato and onion in a small egg pan on the stove, season it, then I scramble two eggs and pour on top and add some cheese on top, put in oven until egg sets and slide it out on my plate and enjoy! You should try it! Oh, make sure your oven is pre-heating while you sautee your veggies!0

I make a dozen mini-frittatas in a muffin tin on the weekend, and eat them throughout the week. This week, it's mushrooms, spinach, red peppers, bacon, and sharp cheddar. They freeze really well, so I wrap them in plastic wrap, pull one out of the freezer each morning, and it's thawed by the time I get hungry. 200 calories and 2 carbs for one, which is really filling. Otherwise I get the Dannon Carb Control yogurt, I think they have around 3 carbs for 4 oz.0

In what way are fruit and veggies not "obvious" carbs?0 -
Yummy! :happy:0

Really good suggestions guys, thank you!
I also found the comments about carb content in the food I used as an example interesting.
I don't know all there is to know about nutrition (obviously!) :-) I really appreciate the info! I may even end up friend requesting some of you! :-)
Every day is a school day!0 -
I eat the same thing every day.lol one sausage patty, scrambled in one egg, topped with cheddar cheese. Very low car....0

i must throw my 987324cents in here.....
JUST saying, that unless you are following a strict no carb at any meal regime-
you should eat the carbs you ARE going to eat for that day -in the morning!!! Because you work them off by the end of the day.
save your lowest carb meal for Dinner- and stay light at lunch in the middle of the day so you don't get tired.
Ex: I eat pasta middle of day=i am under the desk PASSED OUT.0 -

Omelet (no cheese!) with hot sauce... most hot sauces do not have any carbs! Add vegis if you want, they have minimal carbs (my IP coach tells me not to bother counting the carbs in my vegitables and reccomends 4 cupsa day)0
-
2 eggs
2 ounces cream cheese
cinnamon/truvia
blend
fry like a pancake in coconut oil0 -

why not cheese? cheese is high fat and great for low carb.. and its only about 1 gram a slice.0
