Motivation/what kept you going when you met a small goal

My main motivation started at the beginning of the year when everyone makes their New Years resolution to lose weight. Growing up I was fairly thin and active. I met my husband in 2000 and in the last 12 years (and one kid later) I had gained approx. 80lbs. I was tired all the time and had no energy to do anything. I felt like a failure as a parent sometimes because I just thought it was ok to sit around and watch tv all evening with my child. I wanted better. My year started off slow, I only lost about 10lbs in 3 months. My main things I did was to stop eating so much fast food! That stuff is horrible for you and thanks to this site, I learned just how bad it is for you (as if we all didn't know anyway). In March we started a 6 month Biggest Loser contest at work (monetary prizes included :)). My good friend and I worked our butts off and kept each other motivated because our lives were so parallel that we knew what the other was going through. We struggled a lot but hopefully out of 40+ teams, we may get the big prize :), we'll find out in a few weeks. I think the biggest prize that I have gotten over the last 6 months is that I feel so much better, I look better, (even though seeing myself every day I can't tell too much difference) I'm still tired but only by my own fault of not getting enough sleep (what mother of a 3 year old does?). We were married last November 11th on our 11th anniversary of the day we met. Since then I have lost 50lbs! I have never been able to lose weight easily and this by no means was easy. I feel I owe it to myself and our daughter every day to get out and do something active! I want to teach her that sitting your butt on the couch after getting home everyday isn't the way to go (although sometimes it can be a nice break). We are looking forward to adding to our family next year but I wanted to make sure I was healthier and more fit than I was the first time. I think I'll feel better this time since I've learned so much about putting better food into my life and leaving out the garbage that was starting to take over :)

I come on here sometime 4-5 times a day just to read success stoires. Seeing other people loosing and their accomplishments keeps me motivated. That and I was to be able to run around with my daughter.
