A serving of chicken breast is 4 oz. How do I know (without a scale) how to estimate 4 oz of meat?

3 oz is typically the recommended serving size...picture a deck of cards or the palm of your hand.0

3oz cooked is 4oz raw so technically, its the same thing. But you are correct, a deck of cards or the palm of your hand is a great method!0 -
Actually serving size suggestion have been decreased recently from 3Oz to 2.5 Oz's. 3Oz is about the size and thickness of a deck of cards. Most chicken breasts would be 4-6 Oz. You can also read the package for the amount of pounds and divide into Oz's, say you get 12 Oz's and you are looking for 3, take 25% of the package and you will be close to the 3Oz, but a scale is the only accurate way to measure for sure.0
