I was happily losing weight, hit a little plateau ( no problem it had only been a week n half) then I started feeling Ill ( cough/ cold). So I stopped reducing my cals, stopped tracking, I figured my body needed more to fight the bugs. This was Friday, and I really ate, went up a pound on the scales by Sunday. Yesterday I went to docs ( bypass the details nothing serious but today I'm to rest n take antibiotics) yet over 3lb has disappeared when I stood on the scales?!

Now this strikes me as bizarre yo yo ing?! Anyone experience this upon starting a course of anti biotics before? Is it common to drop when I'll even when eating loads! ( not being sick or anything!). Much as I appreciate the easy loss I'm wondering if I should mention it to the doctor.

Your body can fluctuate 3 lbs in a day. It's going to likely go up and down anyway, especially if you're ill and not eating your usual way. Don't stress the scale so much. Focus on how you feel, on healing up, and on how clothing fits

Was the 1 pound gain on your home scale and the 3 pound loss at the doctors? This would def account for a fluctuation. If it was on the same scale it could be because of water weight or because you are unwell. Watch your calories and rest and feel better and start tracking again when you are all better.

I've lost 5 pounds after a good poop. Don't worry about it too much. Anything less than 5 pounds is just normal, daily fluctuation.

Ok its 4lb now, it seems I have a mild case of pleurisy and a bit of weight loss is common.
Am I daft to be a bit annoyed because i feel like a weight loss cheater?
