Anyone offer any advice for anything at all which is low cal, low fat, low sugar. Out with the girlies and they havent seen me since I lost 22lbs so dont want to appear obsessive.

Help please?

Thanks in advance

Seafood (not fried) with only a small side of pasta or none at all. I try not to eat veal, but veal or chicken filets. I would remove the extra oil or butter on top.

If you've lost 22 pounds it makes sense that you would watch what you eat. Your thin friends will not think you're being obsessive. If you're overweight friends do, that's their problem.

Pasta primavera is usually a good choice. Stay away from the heavy sauces if you are looking for low cal. You can even ask for the garlic oil on the side to drizzle over your pasta yourself. Good luck!

hey Sally....I would usually pick Arrabita being a past WW but logging it is 746 cals so DO NOT want that.

Thanks guys tho....I'll do a salad side of course but might pop to the restaurant tomorrow and ask whats healthy its right near where I'm getting my hair done in the aft.

    bistecca fiorentina.
  • Haven't seen your friends in a while, I'd enjoy myself and not worry about calories, but choose healthier foods. Order a mixed salad, if they have minestrone order that - soup always fills me up. Stay away from fried foods and cream-based pasta sauces. Stick with tomato sauce. If it's a good italian restaurant, then they should have wicked tomato sauce-based pasta dishes. Pasta with white wine clam sauce is also good. Most italian restaurants I go to have fish dishes - baked in parchment, roasted, etc. All healthy.

Veal or chicken Piccata, veal or chicken Marsala, seafood (as someone else already mentioned), and steak would all be good main dish choices. Try to minimize carbs as much as possible, replacing potatoes or pasta with steamed veggies or salad. Avoid creamy or cheesy sauces. Avoid sausage or ham based dishes.

Well, an appetizer that includes prosciutto might be worth the extra sodium, fat and calories.

If you are having desert try to go for more fat and less sugar, such as cheesecake or creme brulee. Your body will have to work harder to digest it, and you know...Cheesecake!

Get whatever you want (avoid too much cheese and alfredo) and order a side salad. Eat the salad and half of the entree. Bring the other half home. Less guilt and you won't look weird around your friends. Just an option.

I would suggest eating whatever you like and get on track the next day. No reason to be overly obsessive about cals for a night out with friends. If you wanted you could skip a meal or two to "save" cals for your dinner

The only problem with Italian food is that 3 or 4 days later I'm hungry again.

A 746 calorie meal doesn't sound too unreasonable, especially if you're eating out. Eat lighter during the day and exercise, leave yourself room for dinner. Are you on 1200 cals? If so, you could just make it a day where you eat at maintenance level, which would give you a little extra wiggle-room.

I personally would go for pasta, but your best bet for calories might be something that's just basically meat and vegetables, ask them to leave off the carbs.
