Lesson learned today...

My husband bought me a HRM (Polar FT4) for my reaching my first 100 pounds lost. Well I used it today at the gym while on the elliptical. The elliptical said I burned 705 calories and my HRM said I burned 400. I knew those machines at the gym overestimate calories but I didn't think it would be that big of a difference. Granted I never eat my exercise calories back., but it sure was an eye opener.

It's amazing really. Just make sure that when you drop weight, you adjust your HRM too. That way it stays as accurate as possible! Enjoy.0

I find it all very misleading. The gym machines normally tell me i'm burning loads less than the guides on here tell me. ie for a 30 minute stationary bike ride the machine will tell me 200 cals and MFP will give a guide of 400.
In the end i just dont worry about it, as long as im under on some days and never eat over my cals i'll lose the weight0
