Hi all
Got question that is a big concern for me. I have to lose 6st in weight! The thing that is worrying me is lose skin I don't want to get down to goal weight and have layers of skin hanging all over the place. Has anyone got any tips I'm 32 year old female ex smoker so I know my skin won't be that elastic. Please help

There's nothing you can really do. It seems to be mostly affected by genetics and age. Once you've reached your goal weight it can take a year or two to further tighten up. Just focus on losing the fat at a reasonable pace, that's all you can really do.
  • Thank you hun. Its good to know that it might tighten up :) I'm going to moisturise everyday to help get the blood flowing to the skin see if that helps with the tightening :)
    thank you

I have been told strength training, creams and oils for stretch marks (any will do but use every day) and MSM a collegen supplement all help.

Please note - it is impossible to tell if they really do or not since everyone is different and the pace of weight loss is different but on the other hand why not try them they just may help and GO SLOW to give you skin a chance to spring back.

I've always been told to drink lots of water and exercise as I lose. About six months into losing weight I was really getting concerned about loose skin on my stomach, but within a few months it had toned up. So like another poster said, give it time. What might not look great today-may have a lot of improvement in a few months.
