skinny jeans on not-so-skinny thighs??

Could someone with large muscular thighs and a big rounded butt rock some skinnies? I'd ask my bf for his input, but he's slightly biased.... So. What do you all think?

    They're called "skinny" jeans.

    Not "make you skinny" jeans.

    (I'm a pear and I don't dare.)

Absolutely. Skinny jeans can be worn by anyone (yes, ANYONE!) as long as they are the correct fit. No sagging/bulging in awkward places. If you've got a big round booty and big thighs (like me!) you may need to do a little shopping around to find a pair with just a little stretch to the material, to give your "assets" some space, but when you find the right pair, ROCK THEM SKINNIES!

Disagree, disagree, disagree! (Respectfully) I am pear-bottomed, and skinnies actually are more slimming and elongating than my usual boot cuts. You just have to find a really good cut/ fit.

I have a big booty too and love my skinny jeans. You just have to find a pair that fit you correctly...

It depends on the style/fit of them.. Not all skinny girls can rock the skinny jean.

I think people have a wrong definition of skinny jeans..
    Article-12.gif

I think they are flattering on any shape of fit or nearly fit. In fact, I think they look better if you have an *kitten* than if you don't.

The problem for me is finding ones that fit in the legs and butt, but don't have inches of extra space in the waist.

Interesting... don't think I've been lucky enough to find any. They always manage to make me look stumpy.

Hey I don't know about you, but I WISH my butt was bigger and rounder! Flat as a pancake, dude. Lol but no. Anyone can rock some skinny jeans. I did before my weight loss, and I still do. :)

And Concretegirl: Curvy is gorgeous! Ever heard of Beyonce? If you've got it, flaunt it!

I have a tiny waist and big thighs. I wear skinny jeans a lot. Yeah maybe it makes my legs look big but they're the only pants that don't pool at the waist. I honestly think if you buy the right fit you can make it work.
  • I have a big ol booty and big thighs but I wear skinny jeans. I think they actually make me look slimmer then flare jeans. I just have a problem finding a good fit.
  • Yep it's all about the fit and what shirt you wear :) I'm a pear shape and I love my skinny jeans! In fact, I only have one pair of jeans that are flare and the rest are skinny. I wear a shirt with something going on, more volume, or a bit longer to balance me out.

    Edited for typos
  • Lee, Levi, and Rue 21 all have curvy skinny jeans! Worn with boots is awesome!

I think it depends on your height too.

If you are curvy/short and try to rock skinny jeans, I think it makes people look shorter and stumpier.

If you are tall/curvy, it's easier to rock the look, I feel.

I'm 5'9 and I have two pairs of skinny jeans.. and am thinking about getting another pair.

Absolutely, but it depends on the individual. I've seen them look great on not-so-skinny women and I've seen them look terrible on some not-so-skinny women.

I think shapely bodies look better in skinny jean IMO

I'd go for a straight cut rather than skinny. Skinny jeans aren't for everyone. Source: former plus-size retail worker.

There are two rules of the skinnies:
No. Muffin. Top. Find some that fit your waist.

No Sausage Thighs- don't buy them SO skinny that you can hardly move in them.

Other than that, work it gurrrrl

I saw a commercial on the weekend that they're now making skinny jeans for all leg, hip, waist types.

  • Old Navy is making some super cute colored skinnies that are advertised to have more stretch (ie, more flattering to curvy girls), so I think I might give it a try this fall! Thanks girls! :)
