HRM vs FitBit

I have a New Balance one that I bought from Target about two years ago. The rubber part of the chest strap that latches (for lack of better words) has broken. I can still use it but I need to think about getting a new one. I've seen a lot of people suggest different HRM's but more recently, I've seen alot of talk about the FitBit.

What is your opinion on HRM vs FitBit? What kind do you have/like and why?

Thanks! :flowerforyou:

Lots of people have both. Firbit is good for tracking daily general activity and OK for walking/ running exercise. HRM good for weight training, swimming, cycling etc.

I have both. I wear my fitbit all day, every day to track my activity and see how much moving around I actually do. It makes me want to walk to the kitchen (need that water) or printer more often.
I wear my HRM whenever I'm going to do an actual work out. I go to Zumba, go on hikes, play games for the kinect, etc. Those are times i wear my HRM.

Thanks for the input! I think it would be neat to see the data the fitbit can offer but I also want to be able to accurately track my workouts and runs, plus be able to track in the water (and mud:tongue: )...I'll probably just stick with the HRM...now to decide which one lol

Personally, I have the Polar FT4 and found it on Amazon for around $60 and it's super easy to use.
