Just as long as it is within your calorie allottment, go for what makes you happy and satisfies you. I am not a huge breakfast person, so sometimes will have salads or leftovers for breakfast!

    It's totally fine.

This is called calorie confusion. Clearly your body will be expecting eggs for breakfast but when you're like "BAM!! Chicken and broccoli, SON!" Your metabolism will be like "dafuq?" and you'll burn a TON of calories.

Ok that part was a joke but seriously, it's fine to do.
  • My daughter and I recently went to a nutritionist and she suggested we eat lunch foods for breakfast. She suggested deli meat such as ham, chicken or turkey. I had never even given it a thought before either. She said you don't have to eat typical "breakfast foods" all the time. Hope this helps. She also said to make sure it is within your calorie allotment as well. I have found that eating kale roll ups are delicious. I use kale, chicken breast deli meat with a lite string cheese and roll it up. It's delicious.

I love non-breakfast foods for breakfast! I often eat leftovers from dinner. I'll have anything from pizza and pasta to a veggie burger along with a piece of fruit. I find that eating non-traditional foods helps me feel satisfied in the morning and often have the protein I need to get the day going. Like the other poster said, as long as it fits in your daily calories, go for it!

No problem at all. As long as you can face it at breakfast time then eat it! :o)

I don't eat breakfast anymore but when I did I couldn't eat sweet pastries or cereals or muffins. Toast or scrambled eggs were my breakfast of choice.

Cold pizza that you didn't refrigerate from the night before is horrible for you.. the rest is manageable food intake.. either way, cold pizza is a breakfast of champions.

Does anyone have any evidence that what we traditionally regard as breakfast foods is based on any sound scientific research or is it, as I suspect, just a matter of fashion and subject to variations over time and place?

There is a fashion in the UK amongst some to eat a breakfast consisting mainly of fried meat (called the "Full English"). When I was in France for a wedding cold meat and fruit salad, similar to the above, seemed to be a popular breakfast choice at the hotel, rather than the croissants or French bread one might have expected.

If you don't care about upsetting the space/time continuum, then go ahead.
