Hello, everyone
i live in south asia where wheat is our basic food. we usually eat Roti (Roti is generally a South Asian bread made from stoneground wholemeal flour) friend of mine told me that i can not lose weight when im eating wheat(bread or roti) because wheat is heavy in fiber and wont help you to lose weight. I eat two slice of brown bread in the breakfast and one roti (80 Cal) in lunch after 30 mint weight training. is it ok to eat wheat or should i need to Ditch wheat to lose weight?
MFP had me 1200 and i am under my calorie goal also eating half exercise deficit but still cant eat roti? i workout 6 days a week 4 days weight training and 6 days walk with dog

Your friend is wrong. Unless you have a medical condition, there is no reason that wheat shouldn't be a part your diet.

I eat bread every day and I've lost 44 lbs since March. Wheat is just the latest food that's hip to hate

The only thing that counts is total calories. You do not have to ditch wheat to lose. However, some peope such as myself have found a low carb diet to be great for reducing appetite and losing weight.

You can always try Atkins or anothe type of low-carb. This is what helped me lose the weight.

Calories do count, but there's an extra edge you get with low-carb. Anything that converts to sugar will stimulate your body to produce insulin which makes you hold onto the fat.
