My scale is a big fat liar...NSV...

It's been a while since I had NSV and this morning...I got one...

My partner hid my scale but two days ago I begged him for it and I took a peek: I gained 2.2lbs.

My measuring tape says I've lost 0 inches.

HOWEVER...

I woke up this morning wanting to believe something has changed...so...I took out my pre-preggo skinny jeans. The last time I put these one was 2 months ago and I could barely pull it pass my expanding thighs...so didn't even think of buttoning it...but this morning, not only did I put it on, I buttoned it! Yes, major muffin top issue and I probably can't sit down or eat BUT that's not the point!

So even though Jillian Michaels is kicking my *kitten* in RI30 and even though I've gained weight...this meant so much to me...

And it's confirmed: My scale is a *kitten* and he shall remain in exile till the unforseeable future.

Hell yeah! All scales must die! Or something along those lines :)

Keep on keeping on and pretty soon you'll be leaping around, doing star jumps and lunges and wot not in those jeans ;)

    Yeahhhhhhhhhh buddy :D
  • Congratulations! I always have fun laughing when people tell me I "lost so much weight" when in that time period I had gained two pounds (but looked so much better). I think another NSV is finally realizing the number on the scale isn't everything. Sounds like you are doing an awesome job.

Me too! My scale says I've lost the 2.6 lbs I gained two weeks ago but otherwise haven't lost more. The measuring tape says I've lost like, 2 inches total but ALL of my clothes fit better...or not at all! I'm glad I'm not the only one experiencing this!

Congrats! What a great NSV!! Pretty soon you will be able to sit in those jeans and look really hot! My doctor's scale is a liar also :) I weighed myself at home the morning of my appointment and it said that I was 143-my Dr's scale said I was 147. I told her that it was a liar and she agreed with me :)

Amen, sister! I gained 1.5 lb in the last week (bummed big time) but then turned right around and put on a skirt I couldn't even breathe in a year ago - and wore it all day! I've banned my tape measure, too - since I always seem to put on inches in my thighs, which really hurts my heart, even if I'm down 2 sizes. Damned squats... and since I'm not about to stop the squats & lunges, the thunder thighs are here to stay & the tape is in hiding. LOL

Ok people, sometimes I miss the obvious. What does NSV mean?
The scale is evil, I'm doing a weight lost challenge at our local gym and every week I have to step on the scale 3-5 times and every time it's different. Not 1-2 lbs but like 6-10 lbs, nobody else in the group has this problem. The machine hates me, so today we measured my waist and Woohoo! 3 inches less! I'm liking the tape measure better.

    It means Non-Scale-Victory =)

It's so true! When the scale was in sight, I'd weigh myself all the time, sometimes 2-3x a day! And I know in my head that I obviously didn't gain 2 lbs of fat within hours but it still affected me so much. Same thing with the measuring tape, it's just a new obsession!

I really was shocked when I buttoned up my jeans today. I had to suck my stomach in but two months ago I could hold my breath all day I still couldn't button them up!
  • thank you, I too was one that didn't have a clue what NSV meant :)

I hate the scales too, victory to non-scale times. I weigh myself but I also hate the scale because my scale says 239 but my pants I should be 200.

Something similar happened to me. I gained 2lbs (not sure about inches) and I decided to try on some jeans I have NEVER been able to fit. I could never pull them up my butt all the way and I got the buttoned. Although I would never where them in public, lol. It was a great feeling.
