Unable to Run/Walk - Thoughts?

Options
I have a lovely swollen foot right now - Nope, I didn't hurt myself - Nope, I didn't step on it wrong (doctors aren't sure why - vascular consult in two weeks)...it doesn't hurt and I'll be fine. Just annoying Anyways any thoughts on a way to excercise with one foot? Keep in mind I have ZERO ab muscles.

I agree pool that way you can exercise but not injure you foot more and you can also work your
ankle slowly. Just take it easy. Good luck with the vascular specialist.

    go to the pool

    ^^this

you dont even have to walk. just stand there and move your arms in the water for resistance. believe it or not, moving your arms can give you a very good cardio workout-especially in the pool.

There are a lot of exercises you can do in a chair, you should google them (office workouts). I also vote for swimming and it might help with the swollen-ness of your foot with taking the weight off of it for a while? maybe?

I am disabled with a life-threatening leg condition where I cannot tolerate standing nor even sitting for long durations.. as each minute ticks by my leg veins burn with increasing fierceness. I cannot "workout" but do things in 10 - 15 minute increments. My whole life revolves around these increments. I use TNT or resistance bans for strength training as they can be used while laying down. When my husband broke his hip a couple years ago and was confined to a hospital bed for a month he used the bands so his muscles didn't atrophy.

What she said. Jillian Michaels said something like this on one of her videos I was doing earlier.

It's a type of aerobic exercise. I have a friend that's an instructor.

I am awaiting knee replacement surgery and also cannot run, nor can I walk very far without great pain. I do deep-water jogging.... my version of it anyway. Can't bend my knees much so I get in the deep water and do straight leg lifts as high as I can and arm punches... I go as fast and hard as I can and it is a workout. Also, for the abs, you can get a stability ball. Once you sit on it and are balanced, slowly walk yourself frontwards until your shoulders are laying on the ball. Then put your hands behind your head (don't interlace your fingers) and do ab crunches. When you're done, just slowly walk yourself back into a sitting position. Hope this helps. Good luck!!

I hurt my foot today, not sure what happened. So I did some squats(which i could do with little pressure on the sore spot) and leg lifts from my chair as it hurts to put weight on my foot. You can also do arm curls, just try and do a little something to keep your body moving. Get well soon.
