Question about measurements

When you measure your waist, do you suck your gut in or let it hang out, which is proper?
And where do you go on your hips? The hip bones or around the biggest part of the thigh?

When I measure around my stomach I don't suck it in. I just measure what it is naturally. I would be losing several inches by measuring a sucked in tummy! For my hips I measure around my hip bones and also do measurements around my butt.0

I measure around the biggest portion. whether its at the right spot or not. the biggest portion is the real measurement.0

I just looked this up 2 days ago! LOL
The waist is the narrowest part of your abdomen. Do not suck in or let it hang out-stand how you would relaxed.
Hips are the biggest part (around the butt!)
Middle waist is the area in between your waist and your hip measurments. This helps you be sure your measurements are accurate.0 -
I read that you feel the top of the hip bone and put your measuring tape so the bottom of it would be sitting on the hip bone. If that helps :-)0
