Newbie... (:

Hi everyone. My name is Constance. I am 21 years old. I am new to this site. So far, I like it. I have never actually been able to keep up with all of my activities but I can on here for some reason. (: I joined this site because I wanted to get a good start on trying to lose weight to make myself healthier. I used to be healthy but then I got into a bad wreck that broke my pelvic bone and I had to learn how to walk again but before I could start walking I was bed ridden, or couch ridden since my bedroom was upstairs and I couldn't get up there. I ended up gaining quite a few pounds but then I got it back off after I was able to walk again. My next series of gaining weight was when me and my boyfriend (who by the way doesn't seem to gain weight) started eating fast food like every single night. I am trying to get out of that habit now. And when I quit smoking in November of 2010, that didn't help with my weight at all. I wouldn't quit eating. And that is about where I am at today. I can't seem to quit eating. The past 2 or 3 weeks though I have been working on my appetite. I am really trying to control it. I was seriously addicted to soda also but I have been off of them for almost 3 months now. (: This site helps me count my calories and keep up with how mayn I've eaten and burned off. I am hoping that now I can have the willpower to get healthy. (: I am more than willing to make friends on here that will motivate me. I dont' want anyone to put me down though because I have enough of them types of people in my life already.

welcome. I've been doing it for 2 weeks now. It's very addicting but in a good way. I've lost 9 pounds.
I understand what you are going through. I too was very active (was on active duty in the army, working out 5 days a week, running 10 miles a week) and then broke my back and put on pounds.
While I'm very fortunate that it was a small fracture and healed nicely, I couldn't work out for years. I can now work out again with little limitation but old bad eating habits of my youth keep coming back.
So, again welcome, have fun and best of luck.

I can already tell that it is addicting, haha. I like to get on and log in my activities and food and see that I am actually eating under my calorie limit and exercising over my time limit. (: I will be glad when I lose a few pounds just to show that it is paying off. But I just got started and I know it takes some time. i am not looking for a quick fix. I want something long term. I wasn't ever really actively exercising and stuff before my wreck, I guess I just did enough to maintain a healthy weight. (: After my wreck, I believe I just got lazy. I am glad that you are okay though. I couldn't imagine breaking my back. Luckily I don't have any limititations as to my everyday activities but I do have a weight limitation with the plate in my hip/pelvic. I'm not sure what it is but I don't want to exceed it and rebreak it, if that was to happen I would be stuck in a wheelchair for life. ): My main problem is my bad eating habits also. Thanks for the welcome note and the luck. Best of luck to you also on continuing your track to being a healthier you. (:
