Self-Esteem

Self-Esteem – keyword: SELF!!!!! Why do people waste their time and effort trying to prove to others (haters) who they are? How I feel (esteem) about me (self) is only important to me and not important to others. If someone attempts to discredit who I am or what I am, my true character will be speak louder than my mouth any day. Trying to demonstrate, validate, and/or debate what I am to others can possibly prove that I don’t know who I am. Why should I argue with someone about me when they clearly don’t know me? Keyword: SELF

  • This is really good! We can only accurately see ourselves through God's eyes not through our own. When we struggle with poor self esteem we have to constantly remind ourselves what God says about us and who He has had must us to be as indivduals in Him! Thanks for this! I'm working on not worrying about how people view me or what they say about me. Needed this!

It's not that simple. Our images of ourselves are shaped early and pervasively. How we are perceived by others can affect our fates, even if it's unfair or irrational.

We also may have high standards for ourselves, which often are rooted in the cultures and societies into which we were born.

Sure, it's great to aspire to self-estteem, it's a bit of a no-brainer, but you should acknowledge why it can be hard. Self-esteem has to be based on real things, not just empty affirmations.

I have always been one that is constantly worried about what others think of me. I am my own person, we all need motivation. And I have decided to stay away from the ones that always put me down, and started to hang out with people that respect me and dont put me down. It helps a lot when you have people that want to build you up.
