Mom's with visable ABS!!!

I added an ab picture to my photo’s (last pic) that I took today.
I am currently 5’6 118lbs.
Does this mean I will never have truly visible ab’s? I don’t want to lose any more weight, and I can feel strong abs underneath. Is my skin just stretched out from having my babies that my abs will never show through? Or is there still some hope for me?
Anyone have any advice? (Yes, I used to have a belly piercing, gah)

Umm, I think those are visible abs!! A lot of people would kill for a midsection like yours!
However, if you want more definition, it's about reducing your body fat percentage. Most women need to be anywhere from 13-18% body fat to have visible abs. You can reduce body fat without losing more weight. I don't have specifics, but I'm sure a google search could help. Typically, the advice I see is to eat a lower fat diet and do strength training.0 -
Thooooooooose sure look like visible abs to me. I bet there's a high percentage of women on this site that would kill for your stomach. I guess you're hoping for that completely chiseled look that we see on fitness models. Nothing wrong with that at all just keep in mind that those are professional fitness models or atheletes being photographed while they are in peak condition. They don't remain like that all year. You can do that too by getting yourself to an extremely low BF% thru your diet. But just like those model/atheletes, it's unreasonable to expect to look that way all the time. And most likely not safe either.0

I'm 42 with a 17% body fat, I have clearly visible abs and an a mom with two kids. I don't think it has anything to do with having kids or not - it's body fat%. I will say, that I couldn't get here before my hysterectomy tho due to medical problems and hormonal imbalances. Have you considered saliva hormone testing? That helped me a bunch in my fitness journey and where I am now.0

Thank you everyone. I was more fishing for tips on how to look better. But I will always take compliments when they are thrown my way. :flowerforyou:
1sisrat, you just gave birth, congratulations on the new baby!! Give your body some time to heal and return back to normal. I just followed the rules of MFP and ate at a calorie deficit, a lot of cardio (running), a fair amount of strength training/weight lifting, and a whole lot of patience.0
