What fun things are everyone getting into this weekend?

I will be going along to my Yoga class Saturday morning, then working on my allotment for a few hours putting things to bed for winter. Then in the afternoon I will do my body resistance/dumbell routine. Walk the dog for 30 minutes.

On Sunday I rest. I will pull in a home yoga routine, another doggy walk and then basically chill out.

How about you?

  • Want to see End of Watch tonight, but I have to do an hour or two on the bike trainer (Thank you, 3 slices of pizza).

I have an 8 mile run tomorrow morning, then a 12 miler on Sunday.

What does "working on my allotment putting things to bed" mean? Sorry for the confusion on my part...
I will be doing an open water swim with my triathlon group and then running a benefit 5k race then hanging out with friends and relaxing for the rest of the day. Sunday will be some work at the hospital and a bike ride.

Hi gddrdid! In the Uk we can rent a small piece of land to grow vegetables and flowers and these are called allotments. Putting to bed - I mean cleaning up pumpkin vines and bean stalks and putting them in the composting bins and tidying things up as plants start to die, ready for winter. Difficult to know how many calories I burn doing this so I don't tend to add them in.

Intersting you are going for an open water swim - I love swimming in the outdoors - sea or inland water? I am lucky to have access to both. The sea is 16C right now so still getting out for a swim whenever I can and hope to keep going as the temperature drops so I get used to swimming in colder waters. Its a great feeling when you come out - like you've been slapped all over!

Ah! Thank you for the education...for I am just a sheltered American! Haha... We swim in the lake that I live by. Its 100 miles in diameter and there are several different camp grounds and race (running/bike/swim) locations around it. I am part of a half-ironman triathlon training group and this will be our last open water swim before the big race next weekend. I think the water temperature here is about 75 degrees fahrenheit (not sure what that is celcius).
