I did it !
I have just finished my first 5K Park Run
I was hoping to be around 46/48 minutes mark but according to my sportslivetrack app on my phone I think I managed to do it in 42 minutes
Waiting for my official time to be texted to me....watch this space !
I am still amazed that even being obese I can run for a whole 3.12 miles without stopping ! Last year I could barely run for 30 seconds ! I know it isn't a very long distance but I am very proud of myself and I'll soon have a official time to try and beat next time I go.
I need/want to get faster and fitter...think I'll try to add hills to one of my weekly runs.

Well done!!! That is a huge achievement.
I completed C25K a few weeks ago and keep meaning to do a Park RunI just can't bring myself to get up that early on a Saturday hahaha.
Now that you've done that, you'll be amazed at what you can do. I went out for a 5K run using my iPhone app a few weeks ago and the app crashed at some point so it didn't tell me when to stop running - when I got back to my house, MapMyRun said I'd run 8km!
Congrats again.0 -
Congrats! I also participate in 5K events. With my size, people are amazed when they learn I do them. Its not about the time, its about the starting and finishing. (My times are 55-62 Minutes). Keep it up!0
