Running friends

Hi, so I've been on here for about 4 weeks now, lost about 7 pounds already. I've been training for a 5k that is in November. I have quite a bit of friends on MFP but I would like more friends that share an interest in running. Please feel free to add me if you are a beginner or a pro. I need some friends to help relate to and be able to ask questions. Thanks! :)

Hi there! I run nearly daily, generally between 4 and 8 miles. I would be happy to be your friend and hopefully share some mutual encouragement with you. Ask away, I run 10 miles every few weeks so, while I may not be a pro, I do know a few things about running! :)
  • Ive added you too. I love running :)

Just got home from a half marathon. Updating my friends on my results. Feel free to add me. I started running July '11 as a was to "hit back" at turning 40. Now I'm 41 and I LOVE running! Well, my feet might argue with that right now, but eventually they'll agree with me again!!

I've been running forever but I'm building up my mileage again after some injuries kept me off the roads. I'm always looking for new running pals to motivate and help motivate me. I'll send a F/R

I'm sort of a new runner... Right now I average about 4-5 miles per run 2-3 times a week, but would love to run more. I'm trying to build up my endurance so my new goal is to run 5-6 miles every run. Feel free to add me.

<----casual runner. I like that it keeps me focused and it's nice to train for something specific. 5ks, 10ks, a few tri's in the summer, and a couple of half marathons. I'm slow but I get there.

A bit off topic but a running recommendation:

I started running for the first time ever a couple of weeks ago. My partner got the 5k run app ( neither of us are runners) to start us off. It Was nice starting n running together but He's a lot fitter than me and ran much quicker :(
So I needed more incentive to run, I bought the 'zombies run' app. I'm sure if you're already a runner it's crap, but for me the story aspect, and the gaming aspect made it kinda fun. And when my playlist cut out to a guy shouting at me to run before the zombies got me, I bloody well ran!
I'm out again arm because I'm Ill but can't wait to be better to go on my next 'mission' in to zombie territory! All very silly but to any non runners like me who wish they did run its a great kick start!

I've been running for about ten years. I've done 2 full marathons and lots of halves. I've started doing some sprint distance triathlons and this summer I'm bumping it up to Olympic distance. I don't go very fast, but I do it! I want to lose some weight to help improve my time.
