I came off it 3 weeks ago to try a new pill (Microgynon) but i stopped that too after 2 nights because it made me feel sick.

What i want to know is when to expect my period? I just read online it can take 3 weeks to a year! Really don't want to start a new one until i start my period because my body will be confused!

EDIT: i was on Cerazette for a year.

I've been on cerazette for years but came off briefly a couple of years ago and I came on almost immediately (within a week) and it was non stop for over 8 weeks heavy. It was awful and I had to take iron tablets. Everyone is different though and I'd heard like you that it could take some people up to a year before having their first period!

    Xxx

I've never come off it since starting it back in 2005 but if I miss just one day I get a light period a few days later.....but as the other poster said our bodies are all different.

I came off it because the darn thing gave me liver tumors and I had to have 3/4 of my liver removed. Still 1 tumor left. Waiting to find out if it's stopped growing since stopping the cerazette, all pills can cause this so may be worth looking into a copper iud. It took 8-10 weeks before my period came. I was also quite depressed possibly because of the hormone level change so watch out for that x

i'd feel weird having something sitting in my body! i was thinking about the patch whenever my body decides to give me a period.
hope it has stopped growing. sounds so nasty :(
sometimes i'm really happy then i'll be moody lol x

Expect a fair bit of disruption. Took me a few months to recover.

Sorry to hear about the liver trouble Zara. I think, however, it's important to remember that such complications are extremely rare. And of course you can get complications from pretty much any form of contraceptive. For instance, while liver tumours are an extremely rare side effect of cerazette, 1 in a thousand women will experience perforation from a copper IUD... No method is perfectly safe. Interestingly, most are safer statistically than pregnancy and birth, though... :-)

If you are moody on one hormone product you will probably be moody on any others! I understand what you mean about the IUD but you really don't know it is there! I loved mine! It was fab! And no worrying about periods or mood swings!!

As meetkat said though there is always a risk! I have assisted with loads of coils and never had it hapen but you do get a milder reaction sometimes due to the shock of the fitting but that is very rare as well!
I love that pregnancy statistic though!

I don't love it either! Just never allowed hormones again, so my only option! X

True.. But now I've been off the coil for a while my mood is much better. Why put hormones in your body if you don't need to? Just my opinion on it these days... Periods have been a little worse with coil but apparently calm down after 6 months... Oh and it's not as rare as you may first think!

    Zara.
