New to Insanity...and have Questions

OK. So, I did my fit test yesterday and started day 1 of Insanity today. Someone else on here posted a link to the videos online, so I got lucky to be able to stream them in order to workout.

So, when people say insanity is a hybrid workout, what does that mean? I burned 376 according to my HRM today in 41 minutes, which is awesome. I feel great.....and YES....Insanity is INSANE!

I have also been eating a 20% reduction of my TDEE which is 2200, but I've been eating around 2000-2100 a day. I lose about .5 pounds per week. I have 8-18 more lbs to goal. Is this where I should still be with doing insanity, when the schedule is everyday for two months?

Your help and any pointers here are appreciated. I just finished my first 90days of P90X on Friday and lost 10lbs and 11 inches. :)

  • Love Insanity! I am on my second round of it. The schedule is 6 days a week for 2 months. Make sure you drink a minimum 8 glasses of water per day (64oz). The second month you'll burn 700 to 1000. Its is insane, and so worth it!

Great! But what is the hybrid? Do I eat for strenuous activity still, since its 6 days of insane crazy exercise?
  • I LOVE the Insanity and it was the program that worked for me!!!! I tried P90x and it wasnt for me but everyone is different and I lost 14 pounds and LOTS of inches in those 2 months!!!! I didnt really follow the food plan and just ate in moderation eating 1800-2000 calories a day and lost 2 POUNDS A WEEK ;-)

Awesome job! I hope to lose my last 18 lbs this way or pretty darn close. I don't care too much about the inches anymore, but if they fall off too...then great bonus. :) Thanks for your input and again nice job.... :)

Sorry, just saw this. Not sure about the hybrid. I think it is a mixture of p90x and Insanity. I hear that you should do both plans then the hybrid. p90x then Insanity then the hybrid Insanity. I haven't had the chance to do p90x, but now that I finished Insanity I am doing it again but mixing in my own strength training. I do 3 days of Insanity and 2 days of resistance training.

Hybrid is a mixture of Insanity and P90X - google it and there will be different variations. If you've done P90X and are on Insanity at the end of Insanity you can put the two together and follow a Hybrid (using the best of both if you like).

I started Insanity last week, and am loving it.
