Sometimes, you just want something, and it does not fit with your new plan. or your calories. or your macros goals. or whatever.
what substitutes have you found? Share them here!
Instead of tartar sauce, I use a tbsp of 1% sour cream with a teaspoon of relish. (I eat a lot of fish, and some varieties taste too 'fishy' for my taste.)
when I have a recipe that asks for heavy cream, I also use the 1% sour cream.
to sweeten some baked goods, like muffins, instead of sugar I use my home made unsweetened apple sauce. makes moist muffins too.
on some dishes or cooked veggies, instead of salt I use a little lemon juice and/or dill weed sprinkled on it.
