What is wrong with my polar ft4 hrm? ):

So I noticed that my heart rate wasn't nearly as high as it normally was but I just thought it was me. But as I'm working out now I noticed my heart rate would stay really low, or suddenly switch to a really high heart rate, or a really low one, or it will get stuck on a certain heart rate and won't change. I don't appreciate how I just got this a month ago and now it's malfunctioning. Has anyone else experienced this with their polar hrm's?? What can I do about it?

It might be time to change the battery on the chest strap connector.0

Wash the strap0

Sounds like the strap needs a good wash. If that doesn't fix it you might need to replace the strap as the receptors might not be working properly anymore.0

use a bit of salty water to wet the two sensor pads and ensure they are in good contact with your skin.0

I wash it after every use already, but I guess I can just try washing it more thoroughly.0

Same thing happened to mine. I changed the battery in the chest strap and all is good. Make sure you take the transmitter off the chest strap to maximize battery time0
