Looking for opinions I have had a disagreement with my husband this morning over rest days. I like to workout it is a good stress buster for me and I like the way it makes me feel. Some days i don,t have time to workout (if I am nights and the kids are in school I have little time to sleep so sleep instead of working out), so on days it is possible to workout i will do that. So my husband looked at my diary this morning and noticed i havn,t taken a rest day for 8 days and had no plans to do so today or the next few days either, he said i was stupid and should take one full rest day per week. My point of view is that friday was an active rest day (I walked 10 miles) instead of strength training running. I feel fine, not tired or unduly sore. Is it Ok to workout every day or should i take a rest day once a week.

A rest day can include a leisurely walk or other activity if you wanted it to. Its about not pushing your body on that day and giving everything a chance to recover.

Rest days are just as important as workout days, if you are truly working your muscles to their limit. If your workout is a stroll around the block, then you can do that every day. But if you are are pushing yourself hard, then you need rest days.
