need help regarding weight loss

Hi All,

I joined this a few weeks back & ever since I started counting my calories I lost about 15 lbs in 3 weeks but from 4rth week my weight loss is really really slow. Just 1-1.5 lbs a week at the most. I'm counting calories & also I work out for 1-1.30hrs 5 days a week. I'm not able to understand why I'm not loosing any more weight. I still have to lose 25-30lbs.
Please advice.

    I think maybe you're at a plateau stage that people always talk about. Maybe knock you calorie goal down a bit and work a little harder with fatburning exercises. You could just be building a bunch of muscle right now. That could be it as well. If your gym [if you go to one] gives you access to a trainer you should definitely make an appointment for some advice from them. My mother always followed a trainer's help and she's lost 120 lbs. =]
  • Firstly well done for the massive weight loss so far!!

    I think that you're body is now losing the 'hard fat' after the initial bumper fat weight loss. I.e. your body has settled down a bit and a 1.5lb a week weight loss is great!! That means it will stay off in the long term.

    I have put on 1lb today after a not so good week last week so you have to look at the big picture and anything lost at lost is hugely important and should motivate you.

    You are doing great. At this weight loss ratio, you should be what you want to weigh by Xmas :)

    Remember to have patience. Give it another week or two and then change something up if there's still no progress (even if its not on the scale). Sometimes just increasing water, cutting sodium, or some other diet refinement will help. And sometimes it takes changing up the workout routine.

    Just like the weight didn't go on overnight, it won't come off overnight either. You're doing the right things so stick with them. It's normal to lose quite a lot early on and then it naturally slows as your body adjusts to your new regime. I find it helps to not look at a single week in isolation, but to average your weight loss out over the number of weeks you've been on the plan. So don't say 15 lbs in 3 weeks then only 1, say 16 lbs lost over 4 weeks = 4 lbs per week overall.
  • Thanks everyone for your reply. It's so motivating & encouraging. Yes, I think I need to make some changes in my work out & also in diet. I go to a Gym & just now fixed up my appointment with a trainer...lets see what she suggests! I'm desperate to loose 25 lbs more.
