Whats the difference?

calories are a measure of energy in food.
net calories would be the change in that number after eating (subtract) or exercising (add).0 -
I am really confused by this also. Wouldn't eating add calories and exercising subtract calories?0

From your allotment of calories for the day (on MFP), it is the way I explained. But for your body, yes eating adds calories and exercise subtracts them.
