So my hubby's b-day is Tuesday, and he wants to go to Claim Jumper. Has anyone been there and been able to find away to eat something satisfying without eating 2000 calories?

They serve just about everything! Steak, Pasta, Seafood. It's really good but the portions are HUGE.

go to their website and look at the menu. try to find something that is not full of fat, not fried. then, when the massive platter of food comes to your table, request a box right away so that you only eat half of it during that meal, and save half for later. and don't even think about the "mother lode" seven layer chocolate cake. it is not your friend.

    good luck!

I was there when I was in Phoenix/Glendale last year to see my brother. There are huge portions! I don't know it well enough to suggest something to eat but I would probably get a salad with chicken (how boring) or maybe a very small steak with vegetables and skip the carbs (only because you get so much it would eb too tempting). And stay away from their huge dessert. My friend had her bday when we were there and the free dessert she got could have fed the table of 6 of us.

You will just have to cut it in 1/3 or 1/4 and get a few extra meals out of it. Claim Jumpers is not a place for those who like to eat healthy!

    Enjoy.

If you go during happy hour and sit in the saloon, the serving sizes are cut in half for you and very affordable. Their steak kabobs are wonderful!

Like I said before have the server box up 1/2 or more in a box before they give it to you, and tell them not to bring it until you are ready to pay the check. That way it's not sitting there calling your name :)

The steak kabobs are awesome! If I remember correctly, they are served with brown rice.

Claim Jumper has awesome food but beware - their portions are astronomical! I would try to google their menu or see if they offer nutrition facts on their website before going.
