So frustrated with myself

I am so angry at myself right now...
I lost 2lbs by the 5-6th day of MFP and since i got back home, I just gained it back.. Ugh!
I've been trying to keep calories under 1200 but it just seems impossible and yseterday I went over by 500 cals! The thing is that I'm doing this to myself. I need some tough love... I feel crappy beccause instead of eating salmon for breakfast, I decided to eat F-in Mcdonalds of all things.. UGH!! I'm not helping myself and I actually feel so ashamed because I want to lose the weight but I'm getting lazy about it.

Idk if I should just start all over again starting tomorrow or what because I've certainly messed today up... I'm already 620 calories from JUST BREAKFAST! I can take a walk(if today lets me - my sister-in-law may be having her baby today). Anyway, give me some tough love..

We're not going to hold your hand and tell you everything is going to be okay. Get your a&& up and do something. You don't have to drive to McDonalds - turn the car the other way. Is it easier...sure, but doesn't mean you should go there.

You say you want it, but you continue to do the opposite of what you know is right/good for you!! The day is not over - start NOW. Make the pledge to yourself to eat healthy the rest of the day and go for a walk or something. Then tomorrow do it again and so forth and so on. This is a committment, but you have to be committed!!

So you screwed up breakfast. Make the rest of the day the best it can be. Maybe you'll go over you calorie target again, maybe you won't. Go for a walk or run or bike ride or whatever. Rule your day, don't let it rule you. And then start over again tomorrow and improve what you can.

You will probably have greater success if you increase your daily calorie count, 1200 seems awful low for your stats. Dropping to the lowest possible calorie count your body needs to function is not the long term way to lose weigh or to get in shape. I think you need to reevaluate your goals and perhaps read a few articles like http://caloriecount.about.com/forums/weight-loss/truth-starvation-mode.

Thank you SeaChele for the tough love! Hahah! I don't expect anyone to hold my hand. I do need to do this myself. I will go for a walk this evening(I'm on stand by right now because like I said my sister in law may be having a baby. I want to make sure I'm available if need be) and start eating healthy for the rest of the day.

JohnMessmer, The website told me 1200 calories a day.. I haven't been starving and I've felt full all day(when I ate correctly).

I was going to suggest upping your calorie intake a few hundred as well. You do NOT want to go UNDER 1200, and you especially shouldn't if you are exercising. Get your butt outside and go for a walk. Take your cell with you do if your SIL calls, you can RUN home. It isn't like 5 minutes will make or break anything that has to do with the birth unless you are her midwife or OB!
Put YOURSELF first and stop using other people's lives as an excuse. I did that for 7 YEARS--using my children as an excuse. Now I still use them as one, but I now use them as a driving force TO go on a walk, go to the gym--why-because I want to show them what a HEALTHY and happy mom looks like!

Definitely exercise is the key. I'm also at the 1200 calorie goal and I simply can't survive at that level. But by doing some intense exercise, I can raise my allowance by 1000 to 2000 additional calories. Makes all the difference in the world. Also, just because you had a bad day doesn't mean the whole effort was wasted. Keep working on it and with enough self determination you'll meet your goals.

Hahha! if all you guys are saying to eat more, then I guess I'd be eating enough the past few days even if it says I'm going over on my calories. I just gotta get my butt into gear with exercising. Im not freaking out about it much anymore... I just felt crappy about eating mcdonalds because it is a complete waste of money and it's not healthy anyway and i ate up about half my recommended calories so it's tougher to spread the rest of them out during the day.. I'm just gonna continue my day as usual and forget about it.

I think I put that I wasn't exercising when I first made this account(and I wasnt, at the time). Now, I probably will try to go for an hr walk every couple days so I can see how 1200 could actually be 1000 or less and putting me into "starvation mode"... but sometimes I will eat back some of those calories. I'll have to update my account.

When you update, use this as a guide:

If you have 75+ lbs to lose 2 lbs/week is ideal,
If you have 40-75 lbs to lose 1.5 lbs/week is ideal,
If you have 25-40 lbs to lose 1 lbs/week is ideal,
If you have 15 -25 lbs to lose 0.5 to 1.0 lbs/week is ideal, and
If you have less than 15 lbs to lose 0.5 lbs/week is ideal.

Since you have so little to lose, use 1/2 pound per week.

Set your Activity Level realistically. Just because there is a choice of "Sedentary" does not mean you need to choose it. Faster is not better when it comes to losing SMALL amounts of weight. It just doesn't work.

Fill the rest of your day with colorful, nutrient rich fruits and veges!!
Low cal option- salad with balsamic vinegar.

We are all human and make poor decisions, dont let them define your day!!

If you feel like you should stay close to home due to the birth, get off the couch, run on the spot, high knees, squats, lunges etc. You dont need to go anywhere to get your heart rate up.

    Good luck!!

salmon or mcD's... hmmm.. No wonder you went to McD's.
Do research on foods you like and make them healthy. nothing wrong with eggs. Unless you go to McD's. check out breakfast frittatas. They're awesome [sauce]. make it in bulk. Save salmon for lunch or dinner.

    even tortellini can be healthy.
