Keep it up...

So, I would like to preface this post by saying that I know that I am totally paranoid most of the time. I always think the worst and that people are talking about me/mad at me (I know, it's bad, I'm working on it. The first step to recovery is admitting you need help, right?). I think that I'm probably being way too sensitive about this, but I have heard it so often lately, I was wondering what you guys thought it meant. I have lost 83 pounds in the past seven months and I am about ten pounds from goal. Recently I bought a new scrub jacket at work that is much more form fitting and all of a sudden I have been getting comments from everyone. Lots of times people ask me if I have lost weight, how I did it, ect. and I talk to them for a while about it and then at the end they say something like "well, keep it up". It makes me feel like these people are saying, "you still have weight to lose missy, so don't stop now". I have been feeling good about how I look and I can't imagine that when I am ten pounds lighter than I am right now I will look THAT much different than I do now. It makes me wonder if I didn't set my goal low enough or something. What do you guys think? Is it just something that people say or are they saying that I still need to lose more weight?

Keep it up is usually more of a pat on the back, not an implication of you needing way more. Keep in mind most people are used to seeing yoyo'ers who will lose and then gain with more. The way I would interpret is to say "keep it up"... is " you have done great!" (no yoyo) Just my take on it0

Funny, my SIL just said that to me this week-end. But I took it as "good Job" and keep up the healthy habits. I didn't take it as "you need to lose more weight".0

It's just a term of encouragement, don't read too much into it. I take it to mean "keep eating healthy...it's working".0
