So, I'm sitting at dinner yesterday when my 6 y.o. son looks at me and asks, "Mom, why were you so FAT (his emphasis on fat) when we went to Kelly's Island?" I almost choked on my dinner! I asked what he meant and he used his hands to indicate that my belly was apparently quite bloated in his mind at that point. **He was looking through old photos on my phone. He was only 3 when we went there so the only way he remembers is through photos!!**

So I asked, do you prefer the way mommy looked then or now? He said NOW!! So I reminded him of all the time I spend running and doing exercise videos and I told him that being active and making sure I eat healthy food has helped me lose some weight.
Something about 6 year olds....when I was pregnant with my now 6 year old, my daughter was 6 and she looked at me one day and said, "Mom, when you get that baby out of your tummy you're gonna need a diet BAD!" I vowed to remind her of that when she was 7 months pregnant with her first.

Anyone else have kiddos that said something to either brighten your day or drive a stake through your heart??

    Haha, kids! Definitely remind her of that, little sods, they definitely have a way with words :) My daughter lifted my top up yesterday and told me I had a big tummy, she's not wrong...

    My 3 year old went up to a guy with one leg and asked him where is leg was. The guy said it got hurt and the doctor cut it off. Then my son called him a liar, looked behind him and in his pockets for the missing leg. That went down way worse in reality than it did in my head!

    i have a 3 y/o grand dtr who seems to take note of just about EVERYTHING--so glad she has yet to bring my flaws to my attn LOL!!!
    I think she's getting ready to start; she now likes to sit and "chat" with me as I get dressed and she is VERY attentive. Hopefully I can get the weight off and tone up before she has the nerve. I know it's coming though LOL

    One afternoon I was folding laundry and my 3 yr old was helping. She grabbed up a pair of my panties and exclaimed " whoa mommy...you have BIG underwears!"...tell mommy something she doesn't know haha! :)

    When we were moving I had pulled her shelf out of her room and found a plastic pole that went to a pop up hamper that we no longer had so I threw it out. She apparantly had it stashed back there...now keep in mind my husband and I had just had a conversation about how she acts more like a little boy than a little girl.. anyhow when she discovered it was missing she came running out of her room yelling where's my ( replace the "st" in stick with a "d")?! ...it was really hard to keep a straight face with that one haha.

    Oh, when I was pregnant with my second daughter...I took her with my to one of my OB checkups. As I was getting undressed she looked at me and said " ewww yucky!"....just what you wanna hear when you're big and pregnant.

    We have a friend who's a below knee amputee. My 3 yo asks him about 1 in 6 times that we see him what happened to his leg. Last time he asked him he was misbehaving so I told him that "E wasn't listening to his mommy so she cut it off." My son said "mommy, don't be silly."

    Hahaha! My 3 year old is crazy. He'd use that against me fo sho. Now my 4 year old daughter is a different story. She's already super dramatic (didn't get it from me) with ANY kind of small injury so I just told her some people are born without a leg. God help me if she ever learns that an injury was the cause.

    when my youngest was almost 6 we were on the way home from a bbq at friends. His step-mother had just had his little brother a few weeks prior to this day. Out of the blue he says to me

    Mom - do you remember when I was a little tiny baby still inside your tummy - I said yes I do - he comes back with - Well when I was is there I was really bored.

    I had to pull the car over I was laughing so hard

    Kids - gotta love em!
