To all of my fellow bread lovers... Do any of you know any good recipes that would help us in the low-carbs department. I can't seem to go completely "low-carbs", because I love bread. I have cut down... and I'm trying to cut down even more. Have any of you been able to drastically reduce your carb and bread intake?

try buying the weight watchers brand of bread, you can have 2 slices for very low calories, or there wraps or pita's or thinsations. I dont even buy regular bread anymore, because i know i can still have bread with buyin the weight watchers one, it doesnt taste any different, maybe its cut a little skinnier. you can find it in the bread section at your supermarket. i am not on weight watchers. or try skinnytaste.com, she has awesome recipies0

i cut out bread completely...i had to go cold turkey Because i just couldn't do it in moderation....i lost weight a lot faster as a result. If youre strong and can handle it..then i would suggest you track your carb count after youve had a slice of bread...keep it around 100g total....that will give you results im sure. or if you eat more than that....compensate by increasing your fiber...so your net carbs will be around 100g then . Hope this helps!0

I don't have a good suggestion other than I too love bread. I make my own much of the time. Have one rising right now with spelt flour, sunflower seeds and flaxseed. Healthy ingredients, although likely pretty carbolicious.
Found "Fitness Bread" from Metamacher (or something like that) to be pretty tasty and without too much garbage in it.
Good luck, I love bread so I know what you mean!0 -
I switched to using the La Tortilla Factory Low Carb tortillas instead of bread for just about everything. 10g of carbs per tortilla and I will shove just about anything into one of those!0

I eat bread every day. Yup, every day. And the bread I eat is only 35 calories per slice. My diary is public. :flowerforyou:0

I make my own focaccia dough in my bread maker with half (or none of) the sodium and a whole wheat/white mix.
Then I roll it out fairly flat, bake and cut into 60g pieces that I can cut in half.
Nice and baked and chewy and about 150 cals/180 sodium per sandwich.
One sarnie per day.0
