Ok so i am in a tough spot right now. i wont go into detail about my busy workweek schedule but heres my question. My son is 6yrs old and plays sports at the YMCA (right now its soccer and im assistant coach). BBall start in late Oct and it will be inside the Y at the gym. Now i am having such a hard time squeezing exercise (which i love) into my workweek. I even go to the Y on my lunchbreak for a quick 40 min workout sometimes. Never morning because i also have a 2yr old. SOoo my question is this: Would i look/be a bad mom if i dropped the 2yr old in child care and my 6 yr old in practice?

I dont work outside of the home like you do but I am pretty busy. I homeschool my 6 children from 8 until 4. Then I have housecleaning and dinner to prepare. Currently I am taking my children to weekly 4-H meetings along with guitar and piano lessons on Friday evenings and Saturday mornings. Not to mention the lovely farm animals that need attention. The way I work it in is by putting the kids in front of a movie before bedtime while I exercise in the other room. I usually have my 2 year old underfoot the whole time, but he likes to pretend he's exercising too. So personally I think since you havn't seen your chldren all day while at work, I wouldn't leave them in daycare I would be right there with them. You would be amazed at what you can accomplish at home w/o having to go to a gym or the Y.0

I don't think so at all. Its not something you're going to do every single night, once a week is not a terrible thing to do.0 -

I would do it. Now, my gym has a childcare so it makes it easier if my older kids have something, I can drop them and go to the gym and put the 9 y/o in the kids club. Sometimes, I drop off the 9 y/o at his practice and go hit the gym for that hour. I know a few parents who do the same. If there is a track at the practice site, I might just stick around and walk/jog the track. Depends on where we are. But half the nights I try to fit a workout in and half the time I spend watching practice to be sure things go right. If Hubby is out of work on time and with me, he does whatever I do LOL. sometimes that helps too, having a buddy0

if you find you feel guilty (i always feel guilty exercising when it takes away family time...even though i know i shouldn't feel guilty) could you get up early in the morning?
i've been getting up at 4:30 in the morning (before anyone else is awake) to workout for an hour before work. it sounds horrible, but it really isn't. i make sure i'm in bed by 9:30 so i still get a full 7 hours of sleep.0
