2000 Volkswagen Passat estate 1.8. It's got 126k on it and will probably run okay up to 300k with minimal work. It's fast enough to get out of trouble, gets 28mpg in the city and 42mpg on the motorway (which is just awesome for a large 12 year old car) and I can fit my ceilidh drum kit in the boot without putting the seats down.
Engineering like this is probably why Germany is doing reasonably okay while the rest of us Europeans wallow in the mire of recession.
Next car will be an Audi A4 Avant. If I won the lottery I'd buy a fun car, choosing between a BMW M3 and a Nissan GT-R.
I'd quite like a Prius, but you can't fit a 22" cased bass drum in the boot/trunk because of the battery...0 -
2009 Renault Twingo 1.2 LEV. Small and economical but lacks power
1999 Vauxhall Astra 1.8i Estate. Larger, less economical, more versatile and plenty of power
1983 Renault Trafic Autostar camper (4 berth). Comfortable but 18mpg (UK), 15mpg (US), max 55mph. 30 year old 1.6l petrol engine knows not what power means - but we love her anyway.0 -

I support my country so its union made American cars only for me. If you drive a foreign car and visit my house, don't even think of parking that in my driveway. Until we can sell our cars overseas without all the bs tariffs, I'll never consider a foreign car even if its built here.
I totally agree brother.0 -
I love seeing Jeeps covered in mud! They seem happier that way0

I have a 2007 Red Kia Sportage and I love it! Its good on gas and very comfortable...And love how the seats fold down for more space to move or pick up items from the store.....What kind of car, truck or SUV do you have?
I have a vauxhall vectra I think in the US they are opel but they look nothing like your models. I need a big car as I care for my nan in a wheelchair so I need to get that and shopping, suitcases and god knows what in the back. If I had a choice I'd get 2 cars, a audi Q7 and a fiat 5000 -
I drive a bright yellow 2000 Ford Ranger, suitably nick-named Tweety and decked out in Tweety Bird gear. I've had her for 7 years today!! She's got 135k miles on her, never been in a wreck, and has some considerable work done to her this year. Poor baby's had to undergo a lot of surgery!

I walk and ride my bike.
If I need to run errands, we have a 2000 Toyota Corolla. We usually only use it about once a week or so. When she goes kaput in a few years, then we're going to get a Prius!0 -
