This one always gets me. Any ideas for a clever comeback, for the ever so dreadful, "you have such a pretty face" comment/insult?

How about...." you have such a big mouth." :devil:0 -
I would say; So tell me how you really feel, and why you think this is any of your business.0
-
I would say, and bless your heart, you have such an ugly soul.0
-
I always say "I KNOW". They seem so taken aback by the confidence0

This! I about killed over laughing!0 -
I simply say "Thank you"0
-
Just say "thank you" and move on. They are well-meaning, although clueless.0
-
But... you do have a really pretty face... I don't get it.0

I don't take it as an insult. I love it when people tell me I have a pretty face. I know I have a pretty face. I know I need to work on the rest of me. Okay. That's all. Thank you.0

EXACTLY.
And just because someone says that doesn't necessarily mean that the rest of you isn't pretty. I've been complimented on my eyes. Does that mean that the rest of me isn't pretty? NO. I've been complimented on my hair. No one ever seems to take offense to those kind of compliments. I think it's our own insecurities that make us take offense to the "pretty face" comment. I'm all about some compliments, whatever kind I can get, I say bring it!0 -
I would say "shut up, and keep your damn compliments to yourself. Jerk!" :ohwell:0
-
I think it often depends on who is making the comment - women are sometimes more "honest and helpful" so a confident response will usually stop the cattiness. Men, I have finally come to understand, are generally more "what you see is what you get" they actually mean you have a pretty face. Take the compliment as it is intended. Either way - a woman trying to undermine your confidence (ask yourself why) or a man telling you he thinks you're pretty - they are both compliments, right?0
-
Y'all are pretty wise...some funny...and others...well just annoyingly right :-) I do think I need to take it as a compliment. Although sometimes the delivery isn't the best.......I will kill them with kindness, a smile and a heartfelt thank you....or "suck it" depending on my mood.0

I'm with him. I assume they actually mean it because you do have a pretty face.0 -

see.....you get it0 -
Growing up chunky, and having a thin sister I used to get that all the time... even from my mother who loved me with all her heart. I don't think (generally speaking) people mean it as an insult. if you come back with a rude comment it just makes you sound bitter. Be thankful you have a pretty face... I can lose weight, but I can't change my face.0

Look them straight in the eyes and say " Did you just say use my can of mace" ?0

Lady Astor : Winston! You are drunk!
Winston Churchill : Madam, you are ugly, but in the morning, I will be sober.
Take the compliment, for what it is. Better than them saying "Shame you are a lard-*kitten*"
BTW ... you DO have a pretty face.0 -

I had an ex boyfriend tell me when we were together, that if I was thin I would be the most beautiful woman in the world. It hurt my feelings so badly, and I hid it from him.0

"That makes one of us"? Maybe? (Or is it late, I'm PMSing, hate that "compliment," and am super grumpy? LOL)0
