Just yesterday I registered for my 1st 5K run on Sunday, October 21st. It's called Paul's Run4Epilepsy, in honor of a young man who died from a heart attack while having a seizure, just before his 22nd birthday in 2008. My own son has epilepsy and just turned 22, so it's very emotional for me. I hope I don't start crying while trying to run. The proceeds go to The Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Chicago.

My point - it's for a good cause, and you'll probably feel great doing it. Good luck to us both.
  • That's awesome... Good cause and good workout - what could be better? :)

I signed up for two 5k run/walk one in Oct to support saratoga bridges (helps people with disabilities) and the other in Nov (firefighters Proudly Supporting Wounded Warrior Project) on Veteran’s Day. I am so excited !!!
  • I did a 5k zombie run; I will say it motivated me to get in shape really really well.

Go for it.....you'll get some great exercise in for a good cause.
I just walked in a Komen 5K last weekend, walked in a memorial walk in July.....and would do more, but my very RURAL location makes it kind of difficult.
