So I am very blessed to say that I am getting married soon to the guy I have been waiting for close to 3 decades. The problem is after gaining a few 'happy pounds' from dating I have been trying for the last 2 months to lose the weight. But with all the stress and added pressure of being a bride- and looking great in that scary dress- I have only steadily gained over time, and now seem to be gaining about a pound a week despite logging and exercising. I decided to pull in reinforcements and will be starting up again with my physical trainer this weekend but I am nauseous with anxiety that I just don't have enough time to lose enough to feel confident- only 7 weeks til the wedding. Please help! Give me suggestions for the best way to lose quickly but SAFELY. I don't want to make unhealthy choices because I am desperate, but I am willing to work hard if it will work. Thanks MFP family!!

Reading this makes me very sad. You are absolutely beautiful. BEAUTIFUL! You're wedding day is going to be amazing! And you are going to look beautiful in your dress! I think you need to breathe. Weightloss is simple. Burn more calories than you take in. The hard part is being honest with yourself and sticking with it. You have seven weeks. Look at your food diary and see how you can cut back on a few calories but still eat healthy. Look at your daily schedule and see how you can incorporate a few minutes more of exercise.
Breathe. You are absolutely beautiful and you will look beautiful on your wedding day :flowerforyou:0 -
You surely know all of the weightloss advice you need regarding lotsa water, exercise, sleep, and healthful eating....BUT my advice to you is don't let stressing over weight be even a small part of this grand and awesome occasion. You are beautiful. He chose you out of more than a BILLION eligible women on the planet, you are not a dress size or a photo op. YOU are THE BRIDE!!!!!!!!!!! Stressing over stuff like a few pounds and how you will LOOK only causes more negativity in how you FEEL! You will not want to look back on the big day and the precious weeks leading to it and think, "If only I had lost 6 pounds!" You will look back and share the pictures with your kids and their kids and your husband for years and years and years. Change your attitude to the ENJOY THIS setting and the weight will either fall away, or it will be a non-issue. Either way Congratulations! Not just to you, but to the blessed man who was smart enough to become one with someone so wonderfully made as you. Enjoy your day and your life together!!!0

Just keep losing as normal as others have said...burn more than you are taking in...cant speed up the process...7 weeks to go hopefully you can pace at 1 pound a week.
If you really want to just look good for pictures and stuff the day of the wedding you can also use body building and competitive fighting tricks like dehydration and fasting prior to the event (in this case you wedding) and shed a bunch of water weight and also get rid of some bloating. This is obviously not a permanant solution, but can be used for a day of photo shoots.0 -
Thanks guys. Yes I know the basics and I will try to rev up the excercise, but it definately seems to be the stress winning me over lately. Like you said, I really DON'T want to be looking at my pics and wishing I had been in my fit body I had a couple years ago. It's just hard with this weird outside influence that says you are supposed to look your best when you get married.. and I know that's just not going to happen in 7 weeks. I appreciate the kind words, I hope I can calm down enough to let my body stop overreacting.0
