Mangoes are much more difficult to peel and quarter than indicated by online faqs. That or I'm much more pathetic than the instructions call for. :-)

I agree. Only safe way to eat a mango is standing in the bath. Naked to avoid unnecessary laundry.
Don't think they're worth the effort!

I used to struggle with mangoes, then I found a little gadget in the kitchen section that is like the apple slicer, but it is specifically for mangoes! So much easier!

Agree!! I made mango avocado salsa last weekend and it took me so long to peel and cut that sucker up! The salsa was amazing though.

Agreed. I find most of the fruit sticks to the pit and when I try to eat it of the pit, it gets all stuck between my teeth. But, they taste so good!

That looks identical to every attempt I've ever made.

They are my favorite fruit. YUMMY!! I've got it down but its hard to explain.

I actually poke the knife through the widest part to see how much I can slice off/how big the seed is. I make two slice one on each side of the seed. Then I take one slice and separate the skin from the meat (kind of like separating a watermelon from the outside shell). Then I dice up. Do the same with the other slice. For the seed just slice of the skin and eat what is left with my hands.

I found that if you let the butternut squash get to room temp. it was much easier...might only take 1/2 hour :)

    Stand the mango upright
Slice down one side of the seed
Slice down the other side of the seed
Cup each cut off section in your hand and cut the flesh into the size pieces that you want
Push on bottom/outside of section and "invert" the flesh so it's all sticking up off the skin
    Trim flesh off skin
Trim any remaining flesh on seed off
    One cut up mango
