You can just set your goal to "Maintain current weight..."

All it'll do is increase your target calorie intake. I mean, MFP doesn't tell you what to eat no matter what your goal is. It's just a math engine.

when you reach maintainance you get an increase in your calories and you just keep track of your calories and keep exercising just like you have been doing, This is a lifestyle change NOT a diet so there really isnt any difference when you get to maintenance. You dont get to stop and go back to your old habits , you just get to eat a little more.........there is a group for people who have reached their goal and in maintenance mode

There is a setting where you set up your weight loss goals. Change it from wanting to" lose X amount per week" to "maintain my current weight". I joined my fitness pal after doing Weight Watchers in order to maintain. I have been on here for about 15 months and have maintained my weight the entire time.

You may gain a couple pounds, but most likely it will be water weight as your glycogen stores get topped up (glycogen retains water). Now if you just blindly follow MFP what you think is your maintenance may actually be more. so it would be best to slowly add 100 cals every 3-4 weeks until you find your real maintenance intake.
  • Thanks.
  • Thank you, now that makes total sense !!!!!!!

Not got to maintenance yet but wouldn't you just change your goal in your settings?
Assuming you are are currently on a goal of "lose a pound a week".

    My Home
    ......Settings
    ..........Update diet/fitnesss profile
....................What is your goal (change to Maintain my current weight)
  • Thank you......

if you just hit "reply" in a persons text box, no one knows who you are replying to. try hitting the quote button if you want to respond to someone directly.
  • Thanks to "ALL OF YOU" , you are so very helpful, and I think now I will know what to do.........
