At home work-out ideas?

I don't have a gym pass, yet. So, other than walking, what are some good ideas for at home exercises? I want to tone as well as lose weight.

  • Try jogging! At first, it's a little difficult-- when I started I couldn't even do a half mile, but now, it's a lot fun! Also, squats are great for burning "thunder thighs", jack knives are fabulous ab blasters, and hand weights and good for toning your arms. Of all the exercises I've done, running got my weight down the fastest. Just find something that gets you moving that you enjoy and the weight just comes off. Stay Active! Hope this helps.

I like Jillian Michael's DVDs. I started with 30 Day Shred which is 3 circuits of strength, cardio and abs and each workout is only about 20 mins long.

I have a huge collection of workout DVDs that I rotate through. I get bored easily so I like to change it up. I have have Zumba, Jillians 30 Day Shred, The Biggest Loser, Insanity (currently doing round 2), Pilates, Belly Dancing, and some other Beach Body DVDs. Just go to Target, Amazon, or Walmart and buy some DVDs, a set of light handweights, and you're good to go.

Anything that gets you moving is good. Climbing steps is good cardio and most homes have at least some stairs. Invest in a Wii Video Game device and have fun while you're exercising. Or just move along with a TV exercise program. That's all I got.
