Chewing your food more?

I read on multiple sites that chewing your food more helps you lose weight because your body has longer to realize that it's full. I've tried it on about 3 meals now, and each time I ended up with the same result-I did stop eating faster, but from feeling like puking, not being full! Is this typical? (No, I cannot be sick because the only times I've even felt bad was after these times. Yes, I did end up throwing up after these meals, it just took a while before it actually happened.) Is this typical?

the idea behind chewing your food longer is like the idea of "mindful eating". Basically if you take longer to eat it you will have a chance to stop yourself from inhaling your food. The brain doesn't keep count unfortunately  If you are eating at home I would just reduce your portions by half, enjoy your meal, have a glass of water and if you are still hungry you can have the other half of your meal or a yogurt and some fruit later or someting like that. Food is fuel but it is a social habit in our culture, no sense in making yourself sick.

the only time I got physically sick after meals was either due to food poisoning or being pregnant so if you are only getting sick due to the mental game trying to chew your food theres no point to that at all.
